Most offsites follow the same pattern: a hotel conference room, a packed agenda, and a team that is relieved when it ends. A retreat in Jawai goes differently. Your group spends the morning in open gypsies on granite hills, looks for leopards together, and comes back to breakfast with something to talk about that has nothing to do with work.
Agvani Resort is in Bera village, close to the Jawai entrance gate. It has luxury tents, cottages, a swimming pool and 12 bigha of open land beside the Bera River. This guide covers why Jawai suits team retreats, what your group can do here, a sample 3-day plan, a rough budget and how to book.

Why Jawai works for a team offsite
Jawai sits in the Aravalli foothills, where huge granite boulders rise out of flat farmland. Around 60 to 70 leopards live in the area alongside local villagers, and that is what has made the place known. You do not have to be a wildlife enthusiast to enjoy it, though. Here is what makes it good for groups:
- It is quiet. No traffic, no honking, no other conference next door.
- Safaris are private. You book the whole gypsy, so nobody else joins your group. Each gypsy takes up to six people.
- The scenery helps.Granite hills, Jawai Dam and a very wide sky.
- Local culture is close by.Rabari herding villages are nearby, and a village visit fits easily into a free morning.
When a leopard turns up on a rock at sunrise, everyone in the jeep sees it at the same moment. Over breakfast the jeeps compare notes, and colleagues who barely talk in the office end up arguing about who spotted it first. For more on group trips here, read our Jawai group tour guide. If you are still choosing between wildlife destinations, our Jawai vs Ranthambore comparison will help.
Easy to reach from Udaipur, Jodhpur and Ahmedabad
Most teams fly or drive into Udaipur or Jodhpur and take a road transfer from there. Distances by road:
| From | Distance | Approx. Time |
|---|---|---|
| Mount Abu | 80 km | 1.5 hours |
| Udaipur | 140 km | 3 hours |
| Jodhpur | 160 km | 3 hours |
| Ahmedabad | 300 km | 5 hours |
| Jaipur | 380 km | 6 hours |
| Delhi | 650 km | 10 hours |
Both Udaipur and Jodhpur have airports, and each is about three hours from the resort by road. The nearest railway stations are Jawai Bandh and Falna. For a group, arrange one tempo traveller or bus instead of several cabs. Full directions are on our how to reach Jawai page.
Why Agvani Resort suits corporate groups
Space for sessions and downtime
The property covers 12 bigha, with the Bera River running past it. Shared spaces include a multi-cuisine dining hall, a garden, a swimming pool, a separate sitting area, a reading room and a fitness centre. Small breakout chats can happen in the garden or the sitting area, and a larger discussion fits in the dining hall between meals. If you need a particular set-up for a session, mention it on WhatsApp when you book and we will tell you what is possible.
Tents and cottages for different budgets
A mix of room types helps when one team has different comfort needs and budgets. Every room is air-conditioned, with a dressing room, a writing table and chair, and a large veranda facing the forest.
| Stay Type | Starting Rate per Night (MAP) | Works Well For |
|---|---|---|
| Luxury Tent | ₹5,000 | Team members sharing, mixed budgets |
| Cottage | ₹6,000 | Managers and senior members |
| Cottage with Plunge Pool | ₹7,000 | Leadership or guests who want privacy |
MAP covers the stay, breakfast, one meal and tea or coffee. Rates include taxes, but they can be higher on weekends, festivals and in peak season. Other meal plans and the latest rates are on our hotel tariff page.
Food and evenings
The in-house restaurant serves multi-cuisine food made with fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients, including Rajasthani dishes. Evenings can include bush dining under the open sky and a bonfire. Tribal dance is available on request. The bonfire is usually where the real conversation starts, and it is common to see people from different departments talking for an hour who would not normally sit together.
Wi-Fi and a place to work
Most teams cannot disconnect fully, and someone always has an email to send. Agvani has high-speed Wi-Fi, power backup, 24/7 room service and 24-hour hot and cold water. Rooms have a writing table and chair, and the verandas are good for quiet calls. If you need a screen or projector for a session, ask us before you confirm the booking. Set one rule early: work hours are work hours, and the rest of the time belongs to the hills.
Team activities in Jawai
Leopard safari
Waking up at 5 AM for a shared goal does more for a team than most icebreakers. Each gypsy is private to your group and takes up to six people, so a team of 18 splits across three jeeps.
- Morning safari: 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM, ₹4,500 per gypsy
- Evening safari: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, ₹4,500 per gypsy
- Full day safari: 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM, ₹18,000 per gypsy (four-seater)
Safari rates include tea or coffee and all taxes. Pick-up and drop-off is available, and you should arrive 10 to 20 minutes before the start. See the safari booking charges page for the full list, or read our Jawai leopard safari packages guide and safari timings post.
No one can guarantee a leopard sighting. Booking both a morning and an evening safari gives your group a better chance.
Village safari, Jawai Dam and birds
Not everyone in a team wants to chase big cats, and Jawai has slower options. A village safari goes through Rabari villages, and the dam side is calmer, with birds and marsh crocodiles. These late-morning slots fit well after an early safari and breakfast.
| Experience | Timing | Rate per Gypsy |
|---|---|---|
| Village Safari | 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM | ₹4,000 |
| Bird and Crocodile Sighting | 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM | ₹4,000 |
| Jawai Dam Visit | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM | ₹4,000 |
| Jungle Safari | 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM | ₹4,500 |

Nature walks, hiking and hi-tea
Agvani has an in-house team of naturalists who lead walks across the granite hills. They point out small wildlife, medicinal plants and views that most people walk past. Hiking suits teams that like a bit of effort. Hi-tea on the hills suits everyone else: sunset, snacks, chai and a rock to sit on. Pricing for walks, hiking and hi-tea depends on the location, so ask us when you book.
Cycling, camel rides and cultural evenings
Cycling takes small groups through nearby villages and trails, and camel rides cover the countryside at an easy pace. Both work well after lunch, when nobody wants to sit still. Tribal dance can be arranged for the evening on request.
A 2-night, 3-day offsite plan
This plan balances work and outdoor time. Change it to suit your agenda, group size and how early your team can wake up.
Day 1: Arrival and evening safari
- 1:00 PM: Check-in and lunch
- 3:00 PM: Pool time or a short meeting in the garden
- 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Evening leopard safari, split across jeeps
- 8:30 PM: Dinner
- 9:30 PM: Bonfire and a light icebreaker
Keep the first night easy. Sitting around a fire after a safari does most of the team building for you.
Day 2: Safari, strategy session and team evening
- 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM: Morning leopard safari
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast and safari stories
- 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Strategy or planning session
- 1:00 PM: Lunch and pool break
- 4:00 PM: Hi-tea on the hills
- 8:00 PM: Bush dining and a cultural evening
This is the working day. The early safari comes first, the planning session runs when everyone has eaten, and the fun part comes after. Teams tend to think better after a morning outdoors.
Day 3: A light morning and departure
- Sunrise nature walk with a naturalist
- Breakfast and a short wrap-up circle
- Check-out by 10 AM. Late check-out can be arranged on request, subject to availability.

How to plan a team retreat in Jawai
Group size and safari jeeps
Share your headcount early so we can confirm rooms and jeeps. Each gypsy takes six people, so do the math before you book.
| Team Size | Jeeps Needed |
|---|---|
| Up to 6 | 1 |
| 7 to 12 | 2 |
| 13 to 18 | 3 |
| 19 to 24 | 4 |
Decide who shares a room as well. Twin sharing keeps costs down, and cottages or plunge pool cottages suit senior members or anyone who needs privacy.
Best time to go
October to March is the best season. The weather is pleasant, days are long enough for activities, and leopards are easier to spot.
- October to November:Mild and slightly cool, with fewer crowds.
- December to February:Cold mornings. Pack proper layers and gloves. Read our guides to safari in December and why winter is the best season.
- March:Still pleasant, but warming up quickly.
- April to June:Hot, with better sightings near water.
- July to September:Green monsoon views.
Weekends in December and January fill up early, so message us a few weeks ahead. Weekdays are easier to book and usually calmer. If your offsite falls over Christmas or New Year, see our Christmas and New Year in Jawai post.
Booking and policies
For group bookings, message us on WhatsApp at +91 74269 36663. You can also email info@agvani.com or use our online booking page for individual rooms. In your first message, include:
- Number of people
- Preferred dates
- Room preferences
- Safari slots you want
- Food preferences or restrictions
- Any special arrangements, such as an awards dinner or a birthday surprise
- Whether you need a GST invoice, and any payment terms you require
Tell us the group size up front so the right number of gypsies is held for you. Leaving this to the last minute is where most plans go wrong.
Check-in is at 1:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Cancellation charges are calculated on the total booking amount:
- 45 days or more before arrival: 20%
- 21 to 45 days: 40%
- 8 to 21 days: 60%
- 7 days or less: 100%
Long-weekend bookings such as New Year, Christmas, Holi and Diwali are non-refundable. Check the tariff page for the latest policy before you pay.
What to pack and how to brief your team
Safari mornings are early, cold and dusty. The gypsy is open on all sides, and wind cuts through a thin jacket before sunrise. Ask your team to bring:
- Layers: a t-shirt, a sweater and a jacket on top
- Gloves and a cap if you are travelling between December and February
- Neutral colours such as beige, olive or grey
- Closed shoes with good grip, since granite is rough and uneven
- Sunglasses and sunscreen
- A power bank or spare camera battery, because cold drains batteries fast
- Swimwear and slippers for the pool
On safari, everyone should carry a valid ID, stay seated, keep their voices low and put phones on silent. Leopards are wild, and a loud group scares off the thing you came to see.
Not everyone wants a 5 AM wake-up or a hike. Tell the team which parts are compulsory, such as the work sessions and one safari, and which are optional. People who choose to join enjoy it more than people who were pushed.
A week before departure, send the team one message with the meeting point and transfer time, wake-up times for safari days, jeep allocation, room sharing, food preferences and what counts as work time.
Add a day nearby
If your team has time, Jawai is close to a few other places. Ranakpur is 50 km away, Mount Abu is 80 km and Kumbhalgarh is 97 km. You can add one of them as a day trip before or after your stay.
Take your team out of the boardroom
A good offsite is not about slides. It is about people seeing each other differently, and a granite hill at sunrise tends to do that better than any agenda. Agvani gives your team comfortable stays, hot meals, private safaris and room to think.
